Brad Herman has worked in the field of human services and ministry since 1982 serving such organizations Joyce United Methodist Church as an urban outreach worker, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Burnsville as a youth ministry, and as lead pastor as an ordained minister at New Horizons United Methodist Church. Brad is also a recovered alcoholic who’s drinking dismantled his life and work in ministry in 2002. Brad entered treatment and the life-giving process of recovery in 2004 and in an effort to help others became a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in 2009. Brad continued that profession both in private practice and for organizations like Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge. Brad also provided Spiritual Care for Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation until he felt the call to return to Christian ministry and to start a recovery church in Minneapolis in 2019. The United Methodist Church opened the doors and means to start a recovery church in the Minneapolis are a Brad gratefully serves Recovering Love United Methodist Church as lead pastor and “one of its ministers”. 

 

Brad’s education: BA Human Service, MA Divinity, MA Addiction Counseling. 

 

Brad is married to Anne, enjoys his growing family, hockey, and other outdoor sports like motorcycling with friends.
